illage Mixes was inspired by founder Patricia Houle's fond memories
of home-baked treats, and a busy lifestyle that left precious little
time to prepare the family favorites she grew up enjoying. Recognizing
that she was not alone, Houle set about creating recipes that combine
the homemade goodness we all crave with the convenience we all
need.
Today, Village Mixes is a thriving specialty foods company based
in Strafford, New Hampshire. Founded in 1998, Houle relied upon
the skills and talents of a large network of family and friends
to grow Village Mixes from a one-woman operation to a flourishing
business with a constantly expanding retail base and a strong customer
following.
The company's success comes from its unwavering dedication to
Houle's original vision: use the finest ingredients and proven
family recipes to create mouthwatering treats that are simple to
prepare and a delight to serve.
In March, 2004, Village Mixes' Pumpkin Spice Spread was voted
Best New Product at
the annual New England Products Trade Show held in Portland, Maine.
The packaging on all Village Mixes' products features the distinctive
artwork of nationally recognized folk artist Lisa Carpenter. Her
unique style captures the warmth of family and friends that defines
Village Mixes. Sharp-eyed customers will find tiny tributes to
Houle family members hidden throughout her artwork.
Houle plans to build upon the success of Village Mixes by introducing
additional products in the coming months.
