Founded in 1998, Houle relied upon the skills and talents of a large network of family and friends to grow Village Mixes from a one-woman operation to a flourishing business with a constantly expanding retail base and a strong customer following.

In March, 2004, Village Mixes' Pumpkin Spice Spread was voted Best New Product at the annual New England Products Trade Show held in Portland, Maine.

The packaging on all Village Mixes' products features the distinctive artwork of nationally recognized folk artist Lisa Carpenter.
